Greetings Alumni,


February is the designated month for Black History. The shortest and coldest month of the year. However, Black History is 365 days
a year. 

 

In honor of our designated month of February, we will update our website with historical information regarding Dayton’s native son , Poet
Laureate, Paul Laurence Dunbar, and the creation and development of the great Paul Laurence Dunbar High School . The first all Black High School in Dayton, OH.  

Mr. Paul Laurence Dunbar passed away February 9, 1906. The annual Memorial for Mr. Dunbar will not be held @ the Woodland Cemetery Mausoleum this year.

Tuesday, February 9, 2021 @ 10:00 AM there will be a short program & prayer @ the grave site.  All interested parties will meet out front of the office @ Woodland with Mrs. Sci and caravan up to Mr. Dunbar’s grave site.
(weather permitting)

There will be a national Zoom Celebration of Mr. Dunbar’s works on February 28, 2021. Details to be announced , per Mrs. Sci at a
later date.
